Sony acquires majority stake in Peanuts franchise in deal worth over $450 mn

Sony acquired a majority stake in the Peanuts franchise, including iconic cartoon characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Sony will pay over $450 million for the deal and double its stakes in Peanuts Holdings to 80%, The Wall Street Journal reported. It's buying the stake from Canadian entertainment company WildBrain, which earlier sold 39% stake in the business to Sony.
