Sony Pictures to reboot Spider-Man extended universe: CEO Rothman

Following a series of underwhelming box office numbers, Sony Pictures is planning a "fresh reboot" of its live-action 'Spider-Man' extended universe with "new people", confirmed CEO Tom Rothman. When asked if the production house plans to revisit the "larger Spider-Verse" at some point, Rothman simply replied, "Yes." Sony Pictures has controlled the theatrical rights to 'Spider-Man' since 1999.
