Sought pardon for Assange from Trump last year: Mexican President

Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador said that he had sought a pardon for WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange from former US President Donald Trump before he left office last year. Obrador also repeated his offer to provide asylum to Assange in Mexico. Last month, a UK court ruled that Assange can be extradited to the US to face espionage charges.
