South Africa may be entering 5th wave of COVID-19: Health Minister

Health Minister Joe Phaahla said South Africa may be entering its fifth wave of COVID-19. The Omicron variant of COVID-19 was first reported in South Africa last November. The country has reported over 3.7 million cases and over 100,000 deaths since the pandemic began. Phaahla added South Africa has already passed the threshold of 6,237 new cases per day.
