South African army chief visits Russia amid US' arms supply claim

South African army chief Lieutenant General Lawrence Mbatha met top Russian military official General Oleg Salyukov and discussed "military cooperation", the Russian Defence Ministry said. The meeting comes after US, last week, said South Africa provided weapons to Russia in its war against Ukraine. The meeting was "planned well in advance", South African National Defence Force (SANDF) stated.
