South Korea President calls for govt investigation into FIFA World Cup exit, head coach resigns
South Korea President Lee Jae Myung called for the country's sports ministry to probe South Korea's FIFA World Cup group-stage exit. "When loyalty and factionalism are valued over competence, and incompetent people are appointed to leadership positions, the outcome is all but inevitable," he wrote on X, criticising head coach Hong Myung-bo's appointment. Hong Myung-bo later resigned from his post.
