South Western Railway to modify 371 AC coaches over rat menace

SWR will modify 371 AC coaches in Bengaluru at a cost of ₹84 lakh to prevent rats from entering switchboard panels and damaging electrical components. Rodents have reportedly caused AC failures by chewing through cables and other parts. Following an RDSO inspection, polycarbonate sheets will be used to seal openings and prevent rats from entering the coaches.
