Sovereign gold bond investors get 273% returns on March 2020 issue

RBI has announced the premature redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bonds 2019-20 Series X, issued on March 11, 2020. The redemption price has been set at ₹15,920 per unit, translating into an absolute return of 273% over the issue price of ₹4,260. Investors who bought the bonds online at the discounted price of ₹4,210 would see gains of about 278%.
