Soviet Union's last leader Mikhail Gorbachev marks 90th birthday

Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union, marked his 90th birthday on Tuesday. He's in quarantine in hospital for the duration of the pandemic, his spokesman said. Gorbachev, who promoted arms control and democracy-oriented reforms, is widely credited with helping end the Cold War but his critics in Russia blame him for breakup of Soviet Union in 1991.
