SP MP Awadhesh may be Opp'n pick for Deputy Speaker post: Reports

Opposition is mulling over naming SP MP Awadhesh Prasad for Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker's post, several reports claimed. The 78-year-old Dalit MP defeated BJP in general elections from Faizabad constituency, which includes Ayodhya. As per reports, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee-led TMC has also backed Awadhesh's name. Awadhesh is SP's founding member. Notably, last Lok Sabha had no Deputy Speaker.
