Spain drops plan to buy F-35 fighter jets amid US' tariff threats

Spain has dropped the plans of buying US-made F-35 fighter jets and is instead considering European-made Eurofighter and Future Combat Air System (FCAS). This comes as Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez refused to raise defence spending to 5% of GDP despite US pressure. This prompted Trump to threaten to impose additional tariffs on the country's goods.
