Spain imposes border checks on Italy amid Ceuta migrant row

Spain has imposed border controls on all air and sea travel from Italy until September 7. The decision comes a week after Italy introduced similar restrictions on Spain following the arrival of around 78,000 migrants from Morocco into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Spain had called Italy’s checks “unjustified”, contrary to EU interests and discriminatory against the Spanish population.
