Sperm whale sinks yacht in Pacific, crew found alive after 18 hrs at sea

A sperm whale collided with a 52-foot yacht in the South Pacific, leaving its four-person crew stranded at sea after the vessel's steering gear and hull were damaged on impact. The yacht sank as seawater entered it, prompting them to send a Mayday call and deploy life rafts. New Zealand forces rescued the four alive after 18 hours.
