Sports Ministry raises event aid to up to ₹50 cr, plans Olympic Training Centres

The Sports Ministry has increased financial assistance for National Sports Federations hosting international tournaments in India from ₹2 crore to up to ₹50 crore. The move is part of a revised funding scheme aimed at strengthening the country's sporting ecosystem. The scheme also proposes setting up Olympic Training Centres to provide specialised training to athletes preparing for major events.
