Spotify pays $11bn in royalties in 2025, $70bn in lifetime payouts

Music platform Spotify paid out over $11 billion in royalties to the music industry in 2025, marking a 10% YoY increase. According to Spotify's head, Charlie Hellman, this makes it the "largest annual payment to music from any retailer in history." With this payout, Spotify's all-time payments reach $70 billion. Over 1,00,000 new songs are released daily, he added.
