Spreading fake news on COVID is human rights violation: Pope

Pope Francis said the COVID-19 pandemic has sparked an "infodemic...a distortion of reality based on fear". Spreading fake news and disinformation on the pandemic and vaccines is a violation of human rights, he added. However, Pope said that believers of fake news shouldn't be placed in "ghettos", but instead efforts should be made to help them understand the scientific truth.
