Sprinter Gurindervir finishes 2nd in 100m opening-round heat at CWG

Sprinter Gurindervir Singh, who became the fastest Indian by running the 100m race in 10.09 seconds in May, finished second in his men's 100m opening-round heat at the Commonwealth Games 2026, clocking 10.39 seconds. Qualification for Tuesday's semi-finals will be confirmed after all 11 heats conclude. Seventeen athletes will advance, while seven have already received byes into the semi-finals.
