Sri Lanka celebrates Vesak Poya on a rare Blue Moon Day

Sri Lanka marked the sacred Buddhist festival of Vesak Poya on a Blue Moon Day, commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Buddha. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake inaugurated the week-long celebrations, while thousands of devotees participated in prayers and rituals. More than 8,500 dansals across the country are offering free food and refreshments as part of the festivities.
