Sri Lanka declares Wednesdays as public holidays amid fuel shortage fears due to Iran war

Sri Lanka announced a four-day workweek with Wednesdays as public holidays due to potential fuel shortages amid the Iran war. "It was decided to declare every Wednesday a public holiday with effect from March 18," PTI quoted Commissioner General of Essential Services Prabath Chandrakeerthi as saying. The rule will apply to government employees, all government schools, Universities, and Courts.
