Sri Lanka stripped of hosting rights for inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy

Sri Lanka have lost hosting rights for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy 2027 amid concerns over government involvement in Sri Lanka Cricket’s administration. The six-team T20 tournament was scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from February 14 to 28, 2027. Sri Lanka Cricket is currently being run by a government-appointed Transformation Committee.
