Srinagar artisan Simran Irshad turns aquatic vegetation into decor
Simran Irshad, an artisan from Srinagar collects excess aquatic vegetation and weeds to turn them into handcrafted decor using a 'Grass Mache' technique. She uses traditional Kashmiri papier-mache techniques and combines dried aquatic plants with recycled paper pulp. She decorates vases by crushing dried weeds into fibres and mixing it with recycled paper to create finished pieces.
