Star spotted in its final moments before it gets swallowed by black hole
NASA's Hubble telescope spotted the final moment of a star right before it was swallowed by a black hole 300 million light-years away. The event was recorded on March 1, 2022, when Hubble saw "a very bright, hot, donut-shaped area of gas that was once the star", as large as our solar system and "swirling around a black hole".
