Disney on Monday announced that Episode VIII of the ' Star Wars' franchise will release on December 15, 2017. The announcement was made through a teaser video, featuring director Rian Johnson filming a scene at the spot where the last scene of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was shot. The eighth episode will also feature newcomer Kelly Marie Tran.
