Starbucks fires AI after it makes inventory blunder, turns back to human staff
Starbucks has "retired" its AI-powered inventory counting system just nine months after deploying it across North American stores. The tool, meant to improve tracking of store shortages, frequently miscounted and mislabelled items, like confusing similar milk types.
