Startup at Y Combinator builds working MRI in 101 days

Founder Paul Graham said a team from Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch built an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machine in just 101 days. The unnamed startup developed a working prototype far faster than the years of development typically required to build traditional MRI systems. MRI machines are used to diagnose diseases and monitor the treatment of various medical conditions.
