Startup makes leather bags from mushroom

A San Francisco-based startup 'MycoWorks' has been using leather made from mushrooms to make handbags​, wallets and other products, which are usually made of leather derived from animal hide. The startup makes the material from mycelium, the vegetative part of mushrooms. The company claims that the new material is carbon-neutral, organic, chemical-free, biodegradable and fully sustainable.
