States demand rollback of hiked GST on textiles, footwear

Several states including Telangana, Rajasthan, Kerala and Punjab have demanded the proposed hike in GST rates on textiles and footwear from 5% to 12% be rolled back. Finance ministers of various states voiced their concerns at the pre-Budget consultation held today. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the hike is not good for the industry and must be rolled back.
