States seek higher capex aid, GST compensation at pre-Budget meet

State leaders met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for consultations ahead of Budget 2026. They requested higher capital investment aid, compensation for GST revenue losses, funding for urban/rural development, housing programmes, and disaster management. Kerala asked for a higher borrowing ceiling. Telangana proposed infrastructure projects and Andhra Pradesh pushed for regional development.
