Statue atop Parliament is a copy of National Emblem: Sculptor on 'distortion' claims

Sculptor Sunil Deore has refuted claims of 'distorting' expression of lions in the National Emblem statue installed on top of the new Parliament building. "We've tried to perfectly copy the sculpture at Sarnath," said Deore, adding, "We studied the original sculpture before enlarging it." Many opposition leaders have claimed the lions were made to look "angry" in the new sculpture.
