Statue of Maharishi Sushruta, considered father of surgery, unveiled in UK
A 90-kilogram bronze statue of Maharishi Sushruta, who is considered to be father of surgery, was unveiled in Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK. The installation was announced by Consulate General of India in Scotland. Sushruta is known for having written Sushruta Samhita, a treatise on surgeries and what is believed to be the earliest forms of plastic surgery.
