Steady rise in cyber fraud cases: National Crime Records Bureau

NCRB data shows cyber fraud cases are rising across India. Registered cases under cyber fraud increased from 14,007 in 2021 to 19,466 in 2023. Government told Parliament this reflects growing online use and scams. Officials stressed that while policing is a state subject, Centre supports states via coordination, data sharing, training and stronger reporting systems to improve cyber crime response.
