Steinbeck's 1958 letter to his teenage son on love sells for over $32,000

A letter written by author John Steinbeck to his teenage son in November 1958 was sold at an auction for $32,426. In the letter, Steinbeck offered paternal advice to his 14-year-old son who was experiencing love for the first time. "If you are in love...that's about the best thing that can happen to anyone," the Nobel Literature Prize laureate wrote.
