Stephen Hawking left behind fortune worth $20 million

British theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking, who passed away aged 76 on Wednesday, has left behind a fortune reportedly worth $20 million (₹130 crore). Hawking drew an annual salary of $3 million as the Director of Research at Cambridge University's Centre for Theoretical Cosmology. He also earned huge royalties from authoring books, which included 'A Brief History of Time'.
