STF arrests Assam man linked to Pak-based Shahzad Bhatti terror group

Assam's Special Task Force (STF), in a joint operation with Hailakandi district police, arrested Fazal Islam over his alleged links to the Pakistan-based Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN). The arrest follows the detention of three men by STF in Barpeta. On August 17, Home Minister Amit Shah said SBN planned attacks ahead of Independence Day, but security forces foiled the plans.
