England captain Ben Stokes and pacer Gus Atkinson have been dropped from the squad for the second Test against New Zealand after breaching team protocols. Joe Root has been named captain. Stokes and Atkinson were reportedly involved in a nightclub brawl in London after the Lord's Test, which the ECB is investigating. The second Test will begin on June 17.
