Stones hurled amid protest against Vaishno Devi ropeway project

Pony and palanquin owners pelted stones and clashed with security forces while protesting against the proposed Mata Vaishno Devi ropeway project in Katra. "People have been protesting peacefully for the past 3 days. Some pelted stones at...police today," said Reasi SSP Paramvir Singh. Protesters had called for a 3-day strike and held a sit-in outside SDM's office in Katra earlier.
