Born in a middle-class family in Kolkata, Subashish Chakraborty started Desk to Desk Courier and Cargo (DTDC) on 26th July 1990. In 1991, DTDC provided software and a system for franchises to track orders. Today, DTDC does over ₹2000 crore in revenue. It has 15000 franchise partners and has serviced 96% of India's population.
