Strong tremors felt in Kolkata after 5.3-magnitude earthquake

Strong tremors were felt across Kolkata on Friday after a massive 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit West Bengal. According to USGS, the epicentre was 26 km southeast of West Bengal's Taki. The earthquake struck at around 1:22 pm at a shallow depth of 9.8 km, which likely contributed to the intensity of shaking felt in Kolkata and nearby areas.
