Students' movement defeats longtime Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic in parliamentary elections
Serbia's longtime leader Aleksandar Vucic has conceded defeat to a students' protest movement in the country's snap parliamentary elections. Vucic said Student List was expected to win between 135 and 140 seats in the 250-member parliament. Youth protests broke out in the country in 2024 after a concrete canopy collapsed at a train station, killing 16 people.
