Students forced to remove sacred thread before exam in Karnataka; row erupts

At least two students were asked to remove their sacred thread at a CET exam centre in Karnataka's Shivamogga, inviting criticism from Brahmin groups. A delegation led by former MLA KB Prasanna Kumar met the Deputy Commissioner. Criticising Congress, BJP's PC Mohan said, "This is not the Karnataka Kuvempu dreamt of; this is the Karnataka Tipu Sultan dreamt of."
