Study explains how asteroids may have sparked life on Earth

A study by the Southwest Research Institute suggests that ancient asteroid impacts may have sparked life on Earth. After Earth formed about 4.5 billion years ago, it entered a period of intense asteroid bombardment. These impacts fractured Earth’s crust, creating porous underground pathways that allowed water to circulate through the planet’s upper layers, creating conditions for life to emerge.
