Study finds long RNAs sense physical forces in brain cancer

Scientists from IIT Bombay and ACTREC have discovered that long non-coding RNAs act as sensors of physical forces in glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Studies led by Professor Abhijit Majumder and Professor Shilpee Dutt using lab-cultured glioblastoma cells revealed crucial distinctions between parent and relapsed cells that are not visible on plastic surfaces.
