Study finds memories change each time we recall them

New research by Rice University found that the way people access information can influence how the brain represents it when they retrieve it again. Researchers found thinking about objects by category made neural patterns for different objects more alike in visual-processing areas, while focusing on individual object made its neural pattern more distinct in an area involved in processing words.
