Study finds monsoon rains restore Palghar's groundwater quality
A BARC and HBNI study in Maharashtra's Palghar found that monsoon rains help restore groundwater quality by flushing out salinity and mineral buildup. The study said monsoon rains shift 80% of poor-quality pre-monsoon water into safe drinking categories. However, industrial discharge and rising sea levels remain concerns, with seawater intrusion and evaporation contributing to high mineral levels.
