Former RBI Deputy Governor Subir Gokarn was on Wednesday appointed as an Executive Director (ED) on the Board of International Monetary Fund (IMF). The economist would represent India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan on the board. In the past, Gokarn has also served as Chief Economist of rating agency Standard and Poor's and Head of CRISIL's research and information business.
