Sudan foils coup attempt, situation completely under control: Army

Sudanese authorities have foiled an attempted coup, and "the situation is completely under control", the army said. Reportedly, 40 military officers have been arrested in connection with the alleged coup. In 2019, President Omar al-Bashir was ousted by the country's military and since then Sudan has been ruled by a transitional government council that contains both civilian and military members.
