Sudan military leader replaces heads of national universities

Sudan's military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Tuesday dismissed the boards and appointed new heads for around 30 national universities. Professors at Sudan University, one of the largest, said they would begin a strike to protest against the move. Al-Burhan has been ruling Sudan since he ousted the transitional government led by civilian PM Abdalla Hamdok in October 2021.
