Suez Canal revenues rise to record $6.3 billion in 2021

Egypt's Suez Canal annual revenues reached $6.3 billion last year, the highest in the waterway's history, an official said on Sunday. This is a 12.8% increase from $5.6 billion earned in revenue in 2020, the official added. The official further said that 20,694 ships transited the canal in 2021, a 10% increase as compared to 18,830 vessels in 2020.
