Sugar should become very expensive to help 40+ cut their consumption: BJP's Vijayvargiya
Madhya Pradesh minister and BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya said sugar should become "very expensive" as it can help people above 40 completely avoid consuming it. He further claimed that 90% of people do not like sweets these days. Vijayvargiya's remarks come amid rising sugar prices, with the all-India average retail price reaching ₹62.47 per kg in late August 2026.
