Sugar stocks fall as govt allows duty-free imports of raw sugar
Sugar stocks came under pressure on Friday after government permitted duty-free imports of up to 10 lakh metric tonnes of raw sugar till October 31. Shares of Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries led the decline, falling 6.50%, while Balrampur Chini Mills dropped as much as 5.23% intraday. Triveni Engineering & Industries declined 4.31%, followed by Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar at 4.29%.
